Please read (or print) this overview if this is the first time you are using the school search tool.
This tool provides basic info about proper school
assignment for a home location. A
valid address is required.
Responses displayed herein should not be considered “final” as
additional rules may apply. For more
details, please see “Need more information?”
below. For new streets/subdivisions
info, please call Transportation & Planning (504) 349-7783 if the address
is not available or does not display a response.
Click the link above, “Begin using the JPPSS School Search
tool.”
Type the word “public” (no quotes) in both the username
and password fields.
Click the Login button (or hit the Enter key on your
keyboard).
The page “VersaTrans e-Link Online Information System”
will display.
Click the link for “Work with Students”
This page “Students and School/Transportation Search” will
display.
Click the link with that title.
The next page defaults to the “Simple Search” option.
Select a grade then enter a home address and street
name.
Click the button labeled “Find School/Transportation Info”
to get your answer.
Possible Outcomes:

Results page displays school info and walk/ride status.
·
Results postponed due to invalid data; error appears in red. Please
correct before trying again.
This option applies to overlapping program
conditions. Select only a Grade &
Program to verify whether a student might be assigned to a different
school. NOTE: If a specific school is chosen, “open enrollment” status displays
(currently not valid in JPPSS).
A street’s legal name often is shortened to a local
reference in conversation, e.g. I-10 Service Road v. N I-10 Service Rd W. If a “street match” list appears, choose a
valid name then click “Use selected match.”
There are areas in the parish where names and addresses
overlap. To refine a search if no
response is displayed, enter a zip code.
For Bridge City area, only enter a zip code for Oak Av or River Rd
addresses.
You will be returned to the login page. Re-enter “public” (no quotes) to login and
resume searching.
